Wilderness Snow Adventure Queenstown
A courtesy coach is available to pick you up from central Queenstown or your accommodation. We recommend you dress warm (as if you are going up the ski field), sensible shoes and bring sunglasses and a camera. That’s all you need as we will provide the rest!
This two hour fully guided snowmobile adventure departs from Glacier Southern Lakes Helicopters hangar at Queenstown Airport, taking you on an exhilarating 13 minute flight (approx) across the western face of the Remarkables Mountain Range, over the Hector Mountains & across the Nevis River Valley, where you land at the base of the Garvie Mountains.
After landing at the snowmobile base you will gear up (we provide warm overalls, helmets, gloves, and boots) and have a safety briefing with your guide. Your guide will ensure you can operate your snowmobile safely and comfortably. We have a maximum of 6 passengers per trip so you reap the benefits of a small group experience.
You are then lead through the stunning back country by your guide, along the central most inland mountain range in New Zealand, cruising to an altitude of up to 6,000ft above sea level. Stunning scenery and views will astound throughout the whole experience! With stops along the way for some amazing photo opportunities of the spectacular landscape.
The snowmobile tour will move at a pace comfortable for everyone. Our snowmobiles are modern Polaris machines, they are easy to operate and your guide is right there if you need any assistance.
Upon arriving back to Snowmobiles base, you will then depart by helicopter back to Queenstown. A courtesy coach is available to drop you off back in central Queenstown or at your accommodation.

Great, awesome, fun, thrilling, and worth every penny. We thoroughly recommend this activity to those looking for a winter alternative to skiing or snow boarding or just looking for an adrenaline rush or need for speed type thing. Safety was at the forefront with our guides and every level from beginner to experienced was catered for. The scenery was outstanding, the snowmobiles were easy to use, and you got the feeling of being out in the wilderness too. Groups are kept to six only which meant you were not held up by a large group. The helicopter flight to and from the Garvie mountains site was great as well and very scenic. The pilot was informative and friend!y as was our guide.
We will definitely do this again!!!! QueenstownGroupy
